Many people identify the Venja by the uniform amulets we wear around our necks. I have been asked before where they came from and what they do, and most people in particular find themselves drawn to the stone in the center. I tell them that it is bloodstone, and that we wear them to show our allegiance to each other. It is enough to silence the common mind.

But there is so much more to these little trinkets than meets the eye. They are an ancient recipe, revealed to me through...a sort of esoteric study. The stone was procured by Sah Khethys, some nameless semiprecious gem that was said to have sunk with Atlantis. It is still available, of course, if one knows where to look for it, and our old snake is ever-resourceful. Sah Keene took these stones and carved them into thumb-sized prisms, hollowing them out so that they might serve as containers. He then took the bones of demons found scattered around the ruins in the swamp and painstakingly crafted them into settings for the gems. The top of the setting acts as a stopper, while the serpents coiled around it hold the gem in place.

These gems are empty when they are given to their prospective wearers. It is only when the wearer fills the gem with their own blood that they gain their true power. Through this simple act -- and some ritual magic on my part -- they are linked through to the amulets that other Venja operatives wear. While the amulet is active, the blood within will never congeal, dry, or evaporate. Should it be shattered, however, and that blood spilled, the operative's link will be severed. It is for this reason that we impress upon our new hirelings how important the protection of these seemingly innocuous trinkets is.

How potent is this link? Through the red haze swirling within these little gems, one can see visions of their comrades projected, and hear their voice. By merely affording the trinket a moment of concentration, the wearer can communicate with a single person or, by broadening their focus, the entirety of Venja. This is one of our secrets to success, as it keeps us connected to each other across great distances, allowing us to move at a moment's notice.

Such is the Blood Favor, or Seneset, as we know them. There is a bit more to it than that, of course, but those are secrets reserved for the worthy. If you wish to know more, then it is time to prove yourself.

The Seneset is a RP item given to you during your initiation into Venja to allow for IC guild chat and IC whispers. Essentially, the Seneset is an old Acheronian trinket that uses blood magic to transmit image and sound to others wearing the same amulet.

Your Seneset is controlled by the direction of your thoughts. At your will, it can capture the things surrounding you and send those to the Senesets of other Venja operatives either collectively or in private. This allows for completely in-character guild chat and also in-character whispers when you need to speak with one of your guildmates in private.

That being said, the Seneset can only capture physical sights and audible sounds. It cannot detect mental images, mental speech, emotions, feelings, temperatures, or scents. Therefore, anything you say into your Seneset can be heard by others around you in-game, which is why it is best to emote whispering into the device when in public, and then saying what you wish to say in Legion chat. If you wish to stifle your Seneset, either to give yourself privacy or to mute it for whatever reason, all you need to do is to tuck it away so that it is completely covered, such as in a pocket or wrapped up in a cloth.

When a user logs on, it is generally assumed that they have put their Seneset on, to which other Venja can sense through their own amulet.

The Seneset is not a perfect creation and at times it can cut out. Sudden trauma to the bearer can result in cutting off its magical flow and causing the link to temporarily drop. Large amounts of dark energy or elemental surges can have a similar effect.
